Making the Empire Cross Episode 1: Video Documentation of the lenticular images filmed at the Melbourne Exhibition 2006.

The still images and roll over animation on this web site are only a representation of what the it is like to experience lenticular images. This video provides some further indication of how the works look once installed. The images animate as the viewer walks by. Each image has an optimal viewing distance where a seamless flip from one frame to the next occurs. Some of the images in the video are filmed at a distance that is closer than the optimal viewing distance, which results in one frame begining to show while the other is still visible.
